Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS Trust ('RDASH') The external environments of the two 'RDASH' sites were designed specifically for proposed users' requirements. This involved gaining a deep understanding of specific needs and opportunities for developing therapeutic gardens to aid rehabilitation. Consultations were undertaken and interpreted to create a diverse range of domestic, safe, secure, and private spaces that allow people to use them in the way they wish. Gardens at the Rotherham Adult Mental Health site for example provide opportunities to grow plants, walk off aggressive behavior, shake, rattle and push sculptures, undertake quiet contemplation and group interaction. Both schemes are currently on site and will be completed in 2011.
