January 2012: Camlin Lonsdale is pleased to confirm the appointment of Claire James, a recent graduate from Edinburgh University. Her thoughtful approach and creative flair will rapidly be brought to bear on the Practices’ expanding workload. We welcome her warmly on board!
December 2011: Camlin Lonsdale appointed to NHS Approved Consultant List. As an indication of the Practices’ growing expertise in the design and delivery of therapeutic environments we are pleased to announce our successful appointment on to the North West Consortium of NHS Trust Approved List. We believe this reflects growing recognition of our successful health centred schemes both within Yorkshire and more widely.
November 2011: Financial Close Achieved for ‘Oldham Gateways’ housing and regeneration PFI. The Council and the Inspiral Oldham Consortium, which consists of Regenter, Wates Living Space and Great Places Housing Group, officially signed the 25 year contract. The project will see around 700 new homes being built or refurbished over three years and is a significant boost to the construction industry in Oldham. Camlin Lonsdale will be delivering the key public open spaces at the flagship sites on the project, Primrose Bank and Crossley, alongside OMI and Taylor Young Architects. Work commences on site imminently.
September 2011: Xanthe Quayle speaks at SW1 Gallery launch of the GI Partnership on 11th October (Joint DEFRA, CLG and LI Event). The event will launch the Green Infrastructure Partnership, a commitment made by the Government in the recently published Natural Environment White Paper; and the Landscape Institute’s publication on the subject of Green Infrastructure at a local scale. She will showcase the Bury Mount project alongside Johanna Gibbon’s Eastern Curve Garden and Capita’s Victoria Business Improvement District project.
September 2011: Chichester Festival Theatre Refurbishment proposals submitted for planning. Working alongside Haworth Tompkins Camlin Lonsdale are seeking to re-instate the magic of visiting this iconic building through the development of sensitive proposals which include a new piazza, shared surface and refreshed landscape structure.
August 2011: Burgage Square, Merchant Gate Shortlisted for Northern Network 2011 Shortlist. After almost eight years in the making Camlin Lonsdale’s joint masterplanning role in the redevelopment of the former diary site adjacent to Wakefield Westgate station is now bearing fruit.
